CONCEPT

SaTerra is a premium, organic Japanese tea brand that offers you a euphoric, healthy, and sustainable tea experience. Our 100 % organic Japanese tea leaves come from small family-owned farms, and we strive to be as environmentally-friendly as possible.

Our brand was created under the belief that tea can be a great intermediate for connection: "people and culture", "city and nature”, "body and soul”, or “past, present and future”- through tea, anything can be tied together seamlessly, beyond any borders.

Our mission is that people all around the world will enjoy an ambundance of "connections" through our tea, and their life stories will be filled with contentment and comfort.

About SaTerra

The word “Sa” comes from the Japanese word “tea” (茶), and "Terra" is the latin word for “the earth”or  “land”, which is also the homonym of the Japanese word “Tera” (寺) means "temple".

-

Our organic and delicious teas are made with respect and love to the earth and people.

The farm and tea leaves are taken close care everyday by the proud farmers, as well as we do our best to create the best tea products that everyone in the world feels comfortable with.

In the busy modern life, it's important to find a way to relax, sometimes on your own, sometimes with people you love.

We hope that our sustainably and ethically made tea will help you to feel maximum contentment and comfort, and your tea time will be filled with relaxing and peaceful moments just like you are in a quiet temple.

OUR VALUE

Our commitment to organic

The production of organic tea leaves in Japan accounts for only about 4.58% of the total production of tea leaves*, especially the percentage of oraganic Matcha production is considerably low.

Yet our tea leaves are not just "organic and rare", but we actually visited the farms and took enough time to choose the "best tea leaves from the best farm" in terms of the taste, quality, safety, environment of the farms and etc.

It is our mission to revitalize the organic farming and tea industry in Japan and contribute to the environmental issues, as well as to deliver safe and delicious tea to the customers.

*Based on the data of MAFF in 2016.

Our sustainability challenge

We do our best to choose environmentally friendly materials in our products.

For instance, our signature packaging box is made of FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) - certified paper, which is supported by various environmental organizations.

Also, we use biodegradable and compostable tea bag filters mainly made of plant starch, which no toxic substance come out when you pour hot water so it's perfect to enjoy our delicate organic tea leaves.

No compromise on taste and quality

We carefully selected our tea leaves among various organic tea leaves throughout Japan, that meets our strict criteria such as the quality in taste and scent as well as the environment of the farms and the dedication of the tea producers.

At the same time, it it one of our missions to bring happiness to everyone who is involved in our business, which we believe is essential to keep the quality high.

*all our tea leaves was tasted by chefs and pastry chefs who work for starred restaurants or patisseries in Japan, France and Denmark upon selection.

Minimal and stylish design

Our minimal, clean and stylish packaging design with soft and warm touch is ideal both for yourself and gifting to others, regardless of the age or sex.

The knot in a string of our signature packaging box is called “Matsuba-Musubi” in Japanese (literaly means "pine leaves knot"), which is consided as a lucky charm of “2 people never be separated” as the root of pine leaves is strongly united.
